Basic Interview Training Using English



Now we are going to train ourselves with basic interview training using English. Bring a friend or family member to accompany you to practice this but if you want to exercise by yourself then it is fine. Try not to memorize the questions and the answers given in the following exercises, but please see the point and develop your own style to make you getting familiar with the English especially from the vocabulary terms. Let's start our basic interview training using English, shall we?


  • What is your name? Immediately answer "Anom Martana, sir." Or "My name is Anom Martana."
  • How do you spell it? Memorize every letter of your name to give the impression that you are fluent in English (ei, en, ouw, em, etc).
  • Where do you live? "I live in Denpasar." Or "I live on Jalan Imam Bonjol."
  • Where were you born? "I was born in Denpasar."
  • When were you born? "I was born on March 3rd, 1981" (March third, nineteen eighty-one).
  • Are you married? "Yes, I am married." Or "No, I am not married yet." If you answered "Yes" then a number of other questions will likely emerge as where your wives work or number of children you have. If you answered "No" then the other questions that may arise regarding activities that often you do such as hobbies, favorite movies and boyfriend or girlfriend. Prepare your answer also in English for this type unexpected of question.
  • What are your parents' job? "Well, my father is a waiter and my mother is a Housewife."
  • What school did you graduate from? "I graduated from English Department, Faculty of Letters, Warmadewa University."
  • When did you graduate? "April 21st, 2005." If you can not remember the answer try to answer this "In April." Or "In 2005."
  • What subject did you like? "I like all especially the listening lesson" (Answer appropriate subject that you really like and prepare also the answer when you asked the reason you like the subject.
  • What subjects did you dislike? Try to answer "I like Them All" but if the interviewer keep pressing you for the subject try to answer a subject that have nothing  to do with the job you are applying now and do not forget to give the reason.
There are more basic questions in  basic interview training using English that we should know. But for the warming up, those are enough ;)

Please develop some other questions that may arise during the interview later. It will be a lot easier for you to answer other questions related to the job you are applying if you can expand some other questions for this basic interview training using English.
